Miss Northern International Judges & Scoring Process
Miss Northern International Owner and Global Director, Stacey Mulinex has established a comprehensive judging and scoring process designed to ensure fairness and equity. Drawing on her experience as a pageant parent and working for years as a Director for two large scholarship organizations, Stacey Mulinex along with the support of the MNI Team developed this system through extensive learning and direct engagement with judging software and customer feedback.

The following outlines the Judges and Scoring Process at Miss Northern International:
-
The professional panel of judges is renewed annually for the Miss Northern International State and Global Pageants. This approach ensures a dynamic and fair evaluation process for all contestants.
-
Miss Northern International screens judges based on experience and qualifications. Prior experience is a mandatory requirement for all judges.
-
Each judge evaluates contestants independently. Judges are prohibited from discussing contestants with one another at any point during the judging process. Judges are not allowed to approach families or contestants and engage in conversations.
-
Miss Northern International appoints two Judges Chairs to oversee the scoring process at the Global Finals. One Judges Chair supervises the Junior Division, while the other is responsible for the Senior Division. The Judges Chairs do not participate in scoring; their primary responsibility is to ensure an ethical, dynamic, and fair evaluation process. After each judge scores individually, the contestant score sheet is provided to the Judges Chair and entered into a tabulation spreadsheet. The Judges Chair is the sole individual with access to the contestants' scores during any pageant event.
-
The Global Director, Stacey Mulinex, does not participate in the judging process or have access to any results. The Judges also do not have access to the tabulation spreadsheet.
-
Once all the scores are entered into the tabulation spreadsheet, the Judges Chair also serves as an Auditor for each other and meticulously reviews the scores before the final tabulation is processed to produce the overall results. So that means, Judges Chair Brushaber evaluates all the work inputted by Judges Chair Davis and vice versa.
-
Once the Judges Chair is done auditing the results, the results are produced and then placed in a secure envelope for the awards show. The Judges Chair delivers the secure results directly to the Emcee right before the start of the awards show.
-
What happens if there is a tie for a division titleholder? The interview is the highest scoring competition with 40% of the overall score, so the interview will be used to break a tie if that situation ever occurs.
-
What happens if a judge knows a contestant? If a judge has a personal connection with a contestant, they must waive their right to judge, and the scoring is based on the remaining judges.
-
Miss Northern International does not share individual scores. At each pageant, the top placement is announced. Judges’ comments are sent by email within 10 business days after the event.
