MISS NORTHERN INTERNATIONAL | SERVICE EXCELLENCE OPPORTUNITY

At Miss Northern International (MNI), we provide the Service Excellence opportunity to celebrate service, leadership, and engagement. Being a MNI a queen is about more than wearing a crown. It is about making a difference, inspiring others, leading with kindness, and using your title as a platform for positive change.

The MNI Service Excellence Opportunity is an optional, separately registered competition that recognizes delegates who demonstrate exceptional dedication to community service, meaningful involvement, leadership, and commitment to the core values of Miss Northern International. In order to qualify, you must hold a current MNI state or regional title and be registered for the Miss Northern International Global Finals and meet all eligibility criteria.

The Service Excellence opportunity allows Miss Northern International to recognize an additional court of queens who go above and beyond in their commitment to serving others, make a positive impact in their communities, demonstrate kindness, and consistently participate in the MNI organization.

How are Delegates Evaluated?

Service hours are an important component, delegates are evaluated on their overall commitment, involvement, impact, and representation of MNI.

Each application is evaluated based on the following criteria:

1. Community Service Hours: The total number of documented community service hours completed during the delegate’s eligible participation period, beginning on the date she registered for her 2027 appointed title. Service hours must be documented on the official MNI Community Tracker. Beginning in 2027, service hours must be categorized as either:

  • General Community Service

  • Platform-Specific Community Service

2. Quality & Impact of Service: MNI will consider the purpose, effort, dedication, and meaningful impact of each delegate’s service activities. Whether a delegate organizes a large community project or consistently participates in smaller acts of service, MNI values the quality and impact of service just as much as the quantity of hours completed.

3. Engagement With MNI: Delegates will be evaluated on their active participation, involvement, and engagement with Miss Northern International throughout their registered participation period.

4. Social Media Presence & Documentation

Judging will consider the quality, consistency, and presentation of service-related social media posts. Delegates must time-stamp community service work on social media to coordinate with the service tracker. On social media:

  • Share community service activities and accomplishments.

  • Promote kindness and inspire others to get involved.

  • Highlight the importance and impact of the service project.

  • Positively represent Miss Northern International.

  • Use the official MNI hashtags: #missnortherninternational, #kindnessfirstalways, & #mniheartofservice.

5. Representation of MNI

Delegates are expected to proudly represent Miss Northern International while participating in community service activities. Representation should include wearing their official MNI sash, crown, or displaying a Kindness First Always sign during service activities, when appropriate.

6. Required Submission

The official email submission must include the MNI Community Service Tracker and a 750-word essay outlining your service and kindness commitment, a bullet-point list of the service goals you accomplished, your total service hours during your Miss Northern International reign, how you consistently engaged with the Miss Northern International organization, and your goals if crowned a MNI Global Service Excellence Queen. The required submission is due by June 30, 2027.

Eligibility

The MNI Service Excellence Opportunity is open to registered delegates from both the Junior and Senior Divisions. All participating delegates will be evaluated based on the criteria listed.

Awards & Selection Process

Every delegate who registers for and participates in the Service Excellence opportunity will be recognized on stage during the MNI Global Finals and presented with a Service Excellence medallion in honor of her commitment to serving others.

Service and Kindness

Every act of service and kindness matters. Whether you organize a large community project, volunteer regularly, collect donations for those in need, support a cause close to your heart, or simply find creative ways to make someone smile, your efforts have value. What matters most is the heart, dedication, and genuine desire behind each service project and act of kindness. MNI is incredibly proud of every delegate who chooses to participate in this special opportunity and shares her heart for service. Regardless of the results, every participating delegate deserves to be celebrated for the positive impact she is making in her community.
